Our sessions take place in smaller groups and the exercises are adapted to your conditions, so you can develop at your own pace – regardless of whether you are a beginner or have practiced Pilates before.
The classic Pilates method is the foundation of all our Pilates training. Whether you train on a mat or with equipment, the training is based on the same principles and the same clear progression.
That's why many people choose classic Pilates at Fit to the Core.

What is classical Pilates and why does it work?
"Trust the method - the method works"
- Romana Kryzanowska, American Pilates instructor trained by Joseph Pilates.
Classical Pilates is a training method based on six fundamental principles: breathing, control, centering, precision, flow and concentration. They permeate every exercise and help you train with quality, control and presence.
Unlike many other forms of exercise, classical Pilates is based on a clear progression where each exercise has a purpose and prepares the body for the next step. The goal is not to do as many repetitions as possible, but to develop strength, movement quality and body control through conscious movements.
Therefore, the method works just as well for those who want to get started with training as for those who want to develop further.
Pilates for the back, posture and a stronger body
Many people start practicing classical Pilates to reduce stiffness, improve their posture, or gain better control over their body. By strengthening the stabilizing muscles and developing movement quality, Pilates can help the body function better both in everyday life and during other training.
If you have recurring back, neck or shoulder problems, classic Pilates can also be a good complement to your treatment. At Fit to the Core, it is possible to combine Pilates with naprapathy or medical massage for a program that is tailored to your needs.
Pilates equipment
The classic Pilates method includes both mat training and training on specially developed Pilates equipment. Joseph Pilates developed several different pieces of equipment to help the body build strength, mobility and body control through the same method and principles. At Fit to the Core we train on Reformer, Cadillac and Chair, among others, where each piece of equipment serves a specific purpose and is used for different exercises and levels.
Classical Pilates during and after pregnancy
Classical Pilates is a gentle form of exercise that can be adapted both during and after pregnancy. The training focuses on strength, body control, posture and breathing – areas that are often affected when the body changes.
During pregnancy, Pilates can help improve stability and body awareness. After giving birth, the exercise helps you gradually build strength, reconnect with your core and pelvic floor, and find your way back to a body that functions in everyday life.
At Fit to the Core we adapt the exercises to your needs. Many people choose to start with personal training, but you are also welcome to participate in our group sessions if it feels right for you. Babies are of course welcome at the training.
Our education
All of our instructors are trained through The Pilates Standard, a comprehensive training program in classical Pilates where we learn the entire classical Pilates system.
The basic training consists of 600 hours and is followed by continuous further training to ensure that we can offer teaching of the highest quality.
We work to preserve and carry forward the classical Pilates legacy of Joseph and Clara Pilates and Romana Kryzanowska. With us you will experience the classical Pilates method with respect for its origins, principles and tradition.
